SOLAR POWER SYSTEMS

Generate electricity on your property.

BrightOn Power designs and installs residential and commercial solar systems around the property’s real electricity use, available space, electrical capacity and ownership goals.

Commercial rooftop solar panel installation in British Columbia

TURN ROOF AREA INTO AN ENERGY ASSET

Feasibility, production, electrical integration and project economics evaluated together.

RESIDENTIAL + COMMERCIAL

Solar designed for how the property operates.

We begin with your address and recent electricity information, then define a system that fits the building rather than forcing a standard package.

01 / RESIDENTIAL

Home Solar

Owned rooftop generation planned to reduce purchased electricity and support future electrification.

  • Roof and shading review
  • Consumption-based system sizing
  • Panel, inverter and monitoring selection
  • Electrical and utility coordination
02 / COMMERCIAL

Commercial Solar

Convert available roof, canopy or site area into productive electrical infrastructure.

  • Load-profile and feasibility review
  • Preliminary layout and capital budget
  • Cash-flow and incentive assumptions
  • Engineering, permitting and commissioning
03 / INTEGRATION

Solar + ESS

Add storage where it improves self-consumption, resilience or demand management.

  • Daytime generation analysis
  • Battery-ready solar design
  • Critical-load planning
  • Coordinated controls and monitoring

Current Program Screening

We review applicable programs during planning and help organize the project information needed for eligible applications.

  • BC Hydro solar rebate screening
  • Self-generation application support
  • Commercial Clean Technology ITC awareness
  • Clear eligibility and funding assumptions
OUR SOLAR PROCESS

From first utility bill to a commissioned system.

BrightOn Power coordinates the complete project, with engineering and third-party specialists involved where required.

01

Discovery

Discuss your goals, address and electricity use. For commercial properties, we also review operating schedules and available interval data.

02

Feasibility & Proposal

Prepare a preliminary layout, production estimate, equipment concept, budget and high-level financial assumptions.

03

Property Assessment

Verify roof or site conditions, electrical capacity, conduit routes and structural requirements before finalizing scope.

04

Incentives & Contract

Confirm current program requirements, define the final scope and reserve the procurement and installation plan.

05

Engineering & Permits

Coordinate drawings, electrical permits, structural review where needed, and the utility self-generation application.

06

Installation

Install the array, inverter, electrical equipment and monitoring while coordinating access and building operations.

07

Commissioning & Close-out

Test and energize the system, complete inspection and utility requirements, and organize incentive close-out documents.

08

Monitoring & Maintenance

Review system performance, respond to alerts and provide ongoing inspection or maintenance options.

CURRENT SOLAR GRANTS, REBATES & TAX INCENTIVES

PUBLIC SUPPORT CAN REDUCE YOUR SOLAR AND STORAGE INVESTMENT.

BrightOn Power reviews the current incentive pathways early—before equipment is selected or work begins—because customer type, system design, eligible products and application timing can determine whether a project qualifies.

INDIVIDUALLY METERED HOMES UP TO $5,000

BC HYDRO SOLAR REBATE

$1,000 per kW of installed DC solar capacity, limited to 50% of eligible installed product cost and the program maximum.

COMMERCIAL + MULTI-UNIT RESIDENTIAL UP TO $10,000

BC HYDRO SOLAR REBATE

Eligible commercial and multi-unit residential properties may receive $1,000 per kW, subject to the 50% cost limit and program maximum.

SOLAR + BATTERY STORAGE UP TO $10,000

COMMERCIAL / MULTI-UNIT BATTERY REBATE

$500 per kWh of eligible storage installed with solar, limited to 50% of eligible installed product cost and the program maximum. Home battery limits and Peak Saver rules differ.

ELIGIBLE BUSINESS INVESTMENT UP TO 30%

FEDERAL CLEAN TECHNOLOGY ITC

A refundable federal tax credit may apply to qualifying new solar-generation and fixed-location electrical-energy-storage property. Claimant, property and labour requirements apply.

WHAT CAN BE COMBINED?

An eligible commercial or multi-unit project may qualify for up to $10,000 for solar and up to $10,000 for battery storage. Government assistance generally reduces the capital cost used to calculate the federal Clean Technology ITC, so incentives must be modelled together—not simply added without adjustment.

HOW BRIGHTON POWER HELPS

  • Screen the property and customer type against current program rules
  • Confirm system and equipment requirements before procurement
  • Coordinate utility self-generation and interconnection steps
  • Organize project information for application and close-out
  • Show incentive assumptions clearly in the project economics

IMPORTANT: Programs, rates, eligible products and funding can change. Approval is not guaranteed, and work should not begin until all timing requirements are confirmed.
