We ensure a seamless and transparent process for transitioning to renewable energy.

Here’s how we guide you every step of the way.

Residencial

1. Discovery

  • We start by discussing your electricity usage, energy needs, and goals to design a tailored renewable energy solution for your home or commercial unit. 

  • We only need your address and if you are able, your electricity consumption statement at this stage. 
     

  • Payment: $0.00

2. System Design Proposal

  • Our team provides you with a solar energy system specification and an initial quotation. This proposal may vary depending on your home’s current electrical setup.
     

  • Payment: $0.00

3. Property Assessment

  • Assessment to meet the requirements for government rebates and loans. This involves a site visit by BrightOn Power representative and an Energy Advisor.
     

  • Payment: $500.00
    (Paid to a third-party Energy Advisor. The Energy Advisor Report is a government-mandated requirement for accessing grants and the interest-free loan, and is entirely independent from our company.)

4. Grants & Loan Application

  • Once the home assessment report and final quotation are ready, we assist you with applying for rebates (such as BC Hydro Self-Generation rebates) and the 10-year interest-free Greener Homes Loan through CMHC (proof of income or employment is required)
     

  • Payment: $0.00

5. Pre-Approval

  • Once the loan is approved, CMHC (Intellifi) releases 15% of the quoted amount to the client. This amount is forwarded to BrightOn Power as a deposit, and we commence work.
     

  • Payment: 15% Deposit

6. Pre-Installation

  • Our engineer and certified electrician visit the site to prepare drawings for city permits. This is followed by the submission and approval of permit applications.
     

  • Payment: $0.00

7. Installation

  • The actual installation begins. This typically takes 4 to 6 days, depending on the complexity of the site.
     

  • Payment: $0.00

8. Post-Installation

  • After installation, the Energy Advisor and engineer revisit the site for the Post-Retrofit Evaluation. The final inspection report is sent to CMHC to release the remaining 85% of the loan. Additionally, we submit required documentation to BC Hydro to connect your system to the grid and ensure rebates are paid out.

  • The client forwards these funds to BrightOn Power upon receipt.
     

  • Payment: $340 (Paid to a third-party Energy
                                        Advisor by BrightOn Power)
                          85% of Loan Amount + Rebates

9. Repayment

Shortly after the loan is funded, you will receive detailed instructions on the repayment process for the interest-free loan over the 10-year period.
 

We recommend that our clients take advantage of this loan for two reasons;

First, as it is an interest-free loan (assuming an inflation rate of 2%), it is equivalent to receiving an additional 10% discount on the project, as the future value of the monthly payments decreases over time.  
 

Additionally, there is a significant opportunity cost of utilizing cash instead of the loan, as the cash can be invested elsewhere.
 

With our no-upfront-payment model, clients won’t pay anything out of pocket until the solar system is installed and generating power. Monthly payments only start after the system is fully operational and the loan repayment begins.

EVERY MONTH, INSTEAD OF PAYING AN ELECTRICITY OR GAS BILL, INVEST IN YOUR OWN HOME

Commercial

1. Discovery & Feasibility

  • Quick call or on-site walkthrough. Outline rooftop / parking-lot options & sustainability goals

  • We only need your address and if you are able, your electricity consumption statement at this stage. 
     

  • Payment: $0.00

2. Preliminary Layout & Budget

  • Draft array, battery & EV-charger map

  • High-level CAPEX, incentive stack, and 10-year cash-flow

  • At this stage we provide the clients with high level approximation of suitable solar system and their specs and fees. However, at this stage this is only an estimate for the owners to make reference. 

  • Once site visit is allowed, we move to the next step
     

  • Payment: $0.00

3. Property Assessment:
     Electrical and Structural

  • On-site structural and electrical survey • Verify roof load, main-service capacity, conduit paths.

  • Produces specific and detailed quotation and work scope for the client.
     

  • Payment: $0.00

4. Contract & Mobilization

  • EPC contract issued • Deposit taken (amount case-specific) • Procurement slot reserved
     

  • Payment: Deposit, varies depending on the project

5. Engineering: EPR & EV-Ready Plan

  • Full Electrical Planning Report (EPR) and EV-Ready Plan (If needed) 
     

  • Payment: 

    • EPR: Standard $5,000 → Bundle $3,500 (Net $3,500 + GST).

    • EV Ready Plan: Standard $3,000 → Bundle $4,000 – $3,000 rebate = Net $1,000 + GST.

    • Total Package: $7,500 + GST → Net $4,500 + GST.

    • *Net price assumes BC Hydro rebate applied.

6. Incentive Applications

  • Submit BC Hydro Solar/Battery rebates, Workplace EV-Charger grant, 30 % Clean-Tech ITC
     

  • Payment: $0.00

7. Permitting, Procurement &     
     Installation

  • City & utility permits 

  • Build (4-10 days for small project, 1~2 weeks for large projects. 
     

  • Payment: $0.00

8. Commissioning & Rebate Close-out

  • Energize system

  • Net-meter swap

  • Final paperwork to release rebates/ITC

  • Staff training
     

  • Contract balance (minus any deposits and payments assigned to BrightOn)

9. Monitoring & O&M

• 24/7 cloud monitoring with automated alerts (inverter faults, under-performance)

• Monthly performance e-mail—kWh, ROI vs. forecast, carbon offset

• Annual “top-to-tail” preventive-maintenance visit:  drone scan, torque check, IV-curve test, battery health report and module cleaning.
